Class Schedule

The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic life support cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. It trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED.

The BLS course is geared toward prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and in-facility hospital providers. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.


DURATION: this course is approximately four (4) hours in length, including skills practice, skills assessment, and written exam.

The registration fee includes attendance and provision of an "eCard" upon successful completion of the course, but DOES NOT include a provider manual. The American Heart Association requires all students have this manual available before, during, and after the class.

A $30.00 deposit is required for all registrations. This fee will be credited toward final payment and is refundable with cancellation AT LEAST five (5) days prior to the course. See terms and conditions for full details on refunds.

The Heartsaver® CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. 

Heartsaver® CPR AED is geared for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Ensure the address used during registration is your credit card BILLING ADDRESS, otherwise your payment cannot be processed

Register with a frequently-checked email address. All course communications, including eCards, are sent via email.

Full payment is NOT required upon registration, but a registration fee is required to hold your seat in a course. This fee is applied toward your final course costs and is refundable under certain circumstances. More information is available in the Terms and Conditions section of each course and a copy will be emailed to you upon registration.

Students wishing to pay via cash or check must email cpr@pvac.org or call (585) 223-9680  to make payment arrangements no less than five (5) business days prior to the course. Failure to do so may result in being de-registered from the class.
